Good Example Of Appeal Letter Essay

I believe that justice and honesty are two of the most important virtues that a person may have. A couple of months ago, I was accused of having somebody sign me into a class, while I was really at home sick. Even though I had a medical note excusing myself from academic duties, somebody committed this mischief towards me, and I am now paying the consequences of an act that I did not commit. As it is, I would like to address the Board in order to ask for an appeal or lower punishment. I believe that it would truly be unfair to suspend me from the school or give me an XE grade when it would have been ridiculous for me to perpetrate this action, being completely unwarranted.
The problem is that I was reported to have had somebody else sign me in on the class of Wednesday, March 30th. This appeal to the dean was harsh, unfair and ludicrous, as it would have been very foolish of me to have had somebody commit this act. Not only would have it gone completely against my core beliefs, but it would have been unnecessary and risky.
The first main relevant fact is that I was medically excused for Wednesday, March 30th and Thursday, March 31st. This was due to insomnia, congestion, coughing and fever. I was taken to the clinic by my roommate, and I have shown both proof of his accompaniment and the rest prescription, given to me by The Little Clinic.
As one can see, it would be ludicrous and unnecessary for me to have somebody sign me into class on March 30th, as I already had a medical note stating that it would be counterproductive for me to attend. Furthermore, I was aware of the fact that such an action would bring me academic problems, including an XE grade and expulsion from the school.
Even though I logically respect the professor and his decision, I believe that justice should be the foundation of all human relations, and that his treatment towards me was not fair at all. If this had been another student, he or she would probably have received more humane and just consequences. Nevertheless, this professor has constantly been harsh towards me, something that I completely dislike.
An example of this is the difference between what happened just two days before that Wednesday. On Monday, March 28th, I was reported for leaving the class early. Why did the professor believe what happened on the class of Monday, March 28th, yet not what happened on Wednesday, March 30th’s class? This great divide between what happened on these two days shows the unjust severity that the professor treated me with on this occasion. Even though my signature may have shown up in the attendance, I was at home, sick, with a note that would have excused me from the class anyways.
I realize that, at the end, it is basically the professor’s word against mine, so the odds are against me. Nevertheless, I would like to ask for an appeal or a lower punishment, at least by having you take into account how truly foolish and unnecessary it would have been for me to persuade somebody to sign me into the class. If you still consider punishment necessary, I would implore you to mark me with an E, which would still mean failure, rather than getting suspended from the school, or receiving a grade of XE. I beg for honesty and justice to prevail in this tough situation, something that I have fought for throughout my life.
