Identifying Primary Issues of the American Immigration Situations
Dan Stein, being the president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform of FAIR, entails to establish an advocacy towards an improved system of immigration control in the United States. In his writing, he insists that while America is considered as an open country; often connoted as the land of the free, it should not be abused nor should it be forced to accept people from all other countries just to uphold such reputation. The determination of the American Dream is considered by Stein to have been changed through time, with its meaning specifically deterring in value especially for the real residents of the United States. The American soil, along with all its resources is being exploited due to population influx in the country that heightens in number each year (177). Hence, he proposes to change the policies for immigration, make them more detailed and certain to make sure that only those that can be supported by the US and are likely right for the human needs of the country would be able to get in and settle as residents of the nation (177).
On the other hand, Gregory Rodriguez argues the fact that a large number of America’s labor force comes from the immigrant-population (178). In a way, he notes how the nation needs the influx of workers who are willing to take in even the most meager positions that earn low-cost salaries (178). He points out how immigration could boost the American economy in the long run. Given that the administration empowers the way it directs the people and create possible reasonable provisions for them to survive the American life, he insists on the capacity of these members of the society to provide America with the manpower it needs to determine its economic status in the international market. In a way, the immigrant influx in the country does provide a distinct impact on the development of economic stability as based from the records of the Bank of America (178).
Based from the informed opinions of both authors, it could be realized that immigration is indeed a power tool that provides America with the kind of support it needs especially in terms of fueling it economy to further develop the manpower it needs to operate fully. Nevertheless, the real aspect of concern is directed on how these people would be better served by the government with their basic needs to aide them with survival necessities they need to exist with. The administrational control of the US government in this issue would best be beneficial to all if the measurement of all elements involved is handled with careful analysis of the situation and the stakeholders involved in it. The rebuttal of Rodriguez could be noted as a strong distinction on how the American issues on immigration could be better controlled if laws are created not against the immigrants but towards the possibility of making use of their population influx in the country to the best possible benefit.
