U2D1-NURSING RESEARCH PRIORITIES
- How does the NINR support novice and experienced nurse researchers?
NINR supports novice and experienced nurse researchers through provision continuous training programs. NINR offers various training programs that allow career development. It funds the training programs for the trainees and this allows the achievement of the objectives.
- Identify two current priorities for nursing research identified by the NINR
The current priorities of nursing research are to develop knowledge that will eliminate and prevent disease. The nursing research knowledge acquired will build scientific foundation important for clinical practice. It aims in enhancing palliative care and end of life care. NINR achieves this through its funding to the various programs.
- Review the NINR section "Research and Funding" and discuss one of the highlights explaining how research in this area will promote better outcomes for individuals
Research will ensure the promotion of health, and disease prevention. The funding allows the researchers to investigate about wellness and provide intramural and extramural opportunities (Ninr.nih.gov, 2014). Research will provide ways for dealing the diseases and infections in the best way possible. Individuals will have better lives.
U2D2-RESEARCH VERSUS PROBLEM SOLVING
- Discuss the similarities and differences between the problem-solving process, nursing process, and research process.
Problem solving process, nursing process and research process have similarities and differences. Problem solving process starts with data collection. The data obtained helps in problem definition, which involves settings goals and finding solutions. The final phase in problem solving is the implementation and evaluation of the goals. Nursing process begins by the assessment of the patient and followed by diagnosis and planning for interventions (Burns & Grove et al., 2011). Implementation of the interventions then follows and ends with the evaluation where attained goals are evaluated and modified. The research process in nursing starts at identifying the existing knowledge and the gaps that exist. The gaps are then worked on through data collection and analysis. Implementation of the findings happens and outcomes disseminated for evidence based nursing practice. All the processes involve implementation and evaluation of the findings.
