Introduction
In the 1787, the constitution was completed after getting the signature of nine of the thirteen states representatives. Therefore, with the inclusion of the Bill of rights it means that people’s rights was able to be managed and changes could be made. This was done through the amendment procedure. Some of these changes are claimed to affect the branches of government directly and that is why they are involved in the process of enacting the changes. For the past couple of years, there have been many controversies in America regarding the rights to bear arms. The reason for this is because of the increasing number of people shootings in areas such as schools and malls. This fact is the reason many articles have been written about the controversy.

In the book, it can also be observed that there was a slight increase of people who strongly disagree as opposed to the census that was conducted in 1993, which was at twenty-two percent. The increase is brought on by the governments take on the matter. The government seems to be skeptical of taking any actions regarding the amendment. The reason is that some of the officials in the government are against gun controls since they have firm beliefs in people’s rights to bear arms. This fact can be observed from the history of the amendment (Philip and Gross, 2014).

The article indicates that the support for gun control in America has been dropping for the past couple of years. According to a poll that was conducted, it revealed that the support for stricter laws is higher especially after the Newtown shooting and the Navy Yard shooting. The polls indicate that 48% of the people are pushing for strict gun laws. While 16% of the people did not want any strict rules to be implemented and 26% of the people did not want any changes made to the constitution. The author also indicates that the results of this survey show that there was a decrease in people’s opinions about the second amendment. In the previous poll conducted, it showed that sixty percent of Americans wanted the government to implement striker laws on guns after the shootings of Newtown. However, according to the Gallup polls, it showed that the survey had decreased from fifty-eight percent to forty-nine percent. This poll was conducted after the Navy Yard shooting. Therefore, the article indicates that even with the rise of shootings in America the number of people in support of striker rules on gun laws is not high. The only time when the survey was high was during the Columbine shooting (Swanson, 2013).
Conclusion
It can be observed from the three articles that the number of people in support of the second amendment are very few. There are many gun groups such as NRA, who will always fight to maintain people's rights to bear arms. The government can also be observed to be a major contributor to the controversy over gun control. Some of the politicians are in support of gun control while the majority oppose or are skeptical about the issue. By looking at all the controversies from the three articles, one major issue that can be detected is that most of the people do not want their rights to bear arms to be jeopardized. Therefore, they formulated groups that will represent their needs to the government.
