The future of Anglo- American Relations has been under threat recently with open disagreements being witnessed between the leaders of these two great nations. Several questions have been asked about the future of these relations that have been existent for the longest time that we can remember. What can be done to rectify the deficiencies exposed in recent years? This question has been asked severally from different quarters on how both the United States and Britain can ensure their relations that has been existent for centuries is not under threat. The U.S. on its part needs to understand the fact that Britain is an independent country with its own interests and these interests will always come first before anything else. Britain on the other hand needs to do a few actions to strengthen these relations and for it to be viewed as a valued and trusted ally by the U.S.
What elements need to be strengthened? These two countries need to understand that Trust is important for any relations to succeed and so it is important that the leaders from these two countries trust one another in all the dealings that they have. Britain on its part needs to intensify its efforts in curbing terrorism especially within its borders just the same way the U.S. is doing currently. What new features should be created? This question is the hardest of these three questions as it asks what needs to be introduced to these relations to make it stronger. The U.S. on its part needs to specify clearly its expectations from this special relationship and these expectations should be in line with the current global interests of the U.S. as a country. Britain on its part needs to adopt certain legislation that will see it clamp down on terrorists that have been camping within its borders while carrying out their terrorism missions over the world.
