When people talk about their life and career, it is often related to their work, how much they earn or what position occupy. Therefore I would like to give a breath of fresh air to the idea of a career plan. Career has almost nothing to do with money and any material issues. Career is the kind of person you become when choosing a cause to which to devote your time, attention and efforts. To be more specific let me tell you about my career plan.
I would like to work in IT industry, to be more specific - I am interested in E-marketing and would like to occupy the position of the E-marketer in the IT company which designed it own software and needs to promote it on the global market.
I believe I have a chance to fulfill my dream to become a marketer is I already possess some of the required skills. First of all, it is analytical thinking as I always try to analyze the situation and the possible decisions which can be made in order to find a solution. I am not much of the humanitarian; it is easier for me to come along with problem-solving and concrete tasks. As the E-marketer position requires analyzing the huge massive of information, for example, the certain market, its opportunities and threats, it is obligatory to find filter the information and to decide, which information is relevant and how it can be applied in order to succeeded. That is a good example from E-marketer daily tasks which requires analytical thinking skills.
Secondly, I am an initiative person and can create tasks myself without waiting for someone's piece of advice or supervision. It is also essential in marketer's everyday practice as the marketer is to be ahead of the tendencies on the market and predict them.
Thirdly, I am very creative person which is also a must for e-marketer. It is very difficult to catch the consumer's eye in real life, so you can imagine how complicated it is to do it the Internet. All you have is the website and the E-marketer has to design the marketing strategy efficiently creatively so that the clients will notice the website and neglect the competitors.
Following this, I am very flexible, easy going and communicative. Moreover, I am fond of Psychology so already read a couple of book on how to communicate effectively, The most important is that the clients should understand your message and I think I could find a way to persuade them to stay with the company I work in.
Although I am good at certain things there is always room for improvement, in other words, the weaknesses. My main weakness is the lack of hard skills, a basic knowledge in e-marketing. Obviously I do know something about general marketing principles which are always relevant. Though the E-marketer position requires specific knowledge about the ways how to increase the conversion of the website, what promotion methods work effectively on Internet and suchlike. In addition, I am a little bit lazy and may be considered even irresponsible in some cases. For example, I am not good at time management and always leave the assignments for the last hours and do it in a hurry as a result. Eventually, the quality of such papers leaves much to be desired, and everybody thinks that I am not educated enough. Nevertheless my potential is impressive; all I have to do is to cope with the laziness.
I think that the profession of the marketer has recently become very popular due to the globalization tendencies, the ability to trade with the foreign partners and also because of the laminated economic barriers within the trade unions. This position is so overwhelmingly desired because first of all it gives the opportunity to create something new, to fulfill even the craziest ideas into life as they can turn out to be beneficial for the company. Also, E-marketer is the profession that is not limited by the country boarders, so you'll have a chance to communicate with people all over the world and thus promote your product. Nowadays there are more and more people interested in this profession as the salary does not depend on the national economic situation. This means even if something happens inside your country you still will be able to earn sufficient amount of money. This point is especially true about the developing countries, where the average salary leaves much to be desired.
Therefore E-marketing is definitely the growing career path. Humanity is rapidly being transferred to the virtual world, developing electronic payment systems and online brands. Social networks have become a major tool of influence on the clients. The prosperous perspective is awaiting that marketer who can combine general and Internet marketing. Internet marketing won't replace traditional, but rather may become complementary. In 2015 marketing communications are likely to grow in all segments except the print media. The largest share of advertising budgets still holds television and Internet advertising market. Therefore, the E-marketing is very promising niche.
When applying for any position it is crucial to know the peculiarities of your character, what differs you form others and what makes you stand out of the crowd. The great benefit is that i am always ready to action even without being told to do something. I am not afraid to show he initiative even though people overwhelmingly believe that initiatives are punishable because from the moment you express the idea you become responsible for its realization. I strangle believe that autonomous learning is a part if successful career, therefore, I do not wait until the supervisor forces me some tasks. Still I am used to working under pressure which is also obligatory in any profession as the stress resistance is the special feature of character and I am extremely happy I possess it. I also think that my creativity makes me special and accordingly a perfect candidate for the position of E-marketer. For example I often use the ordinary things in unusual way. The last time I delivered a presentation to my colleagues on the topic "10 ways to use the pen". I strongly believe that the ordinary things and everyday routine have a bad influence on corporative spirit; therefore, such optimist as me is a great value for the company. Besides, I am good at delivering presentations and have already experience in presenting the topic to a wide audience. Being a E-marketer also request excellent presentation skills on order to obtain the attention of the customer, to make him/ her interested in what the company sells. I think that it is crucial to make the customer feel the benefit from the products we sell. What I mean is that I as a marketer should turn the client's wants into needs.
