As most people well know, there are a lot of things that have an effect on people’s lives and these things usually mean the difference between the sweet life and ruin. It is a known fact that people let some of the cause of these effects take control of their lives, and forever change them. For example, a parent that is overly strict on their child will be the reason that the child rebels (cause) and take that anger out on people around them or people that get aggressive with them (effect). Another common reason why there are so many people who are homeless with behavioral problems is because of bullying, but bullying has opened thousands more doors to other avenues than just behavioral problems. Case in point, a 17 year old girl who is destined to be class valedictorian suffers from bullying problems (effect) at school because of her bright future and tailored destiny (cause).
Bowerman (2014) reports that bullying has serious effects on a person’s mental state and getting bullied can have detrimental repercussions on a person’s lives (Bowerman, 2014, pg.1). People who are the subject of bullying are among those who have the brightest futures to do great things, (effect) but that they do not get to that point because their pleas for help fall on deaf ears (cause). Ironically, our once caring society has turned into a battle arena for the strong (cause) to pick on the weak for any reason they see fit (effect).
Another example of this is from a previous point, a child that is constantly bullied at home by a parent who call themselves “disciplining” often leave that child with a sense of hopeless (effect). This leaves the child unable to fit in or find their place because aggression is all they know (cause).
Bullying that a child receives from a stressed out parent can have imminently dangerous cause, and effects not to mention turns the child into a walking time bomb. Case in point, an overstressed single mother is fighting to take care of her 7 year old who has behavioral problems with authority while trying to find work.
The 7 year old is beaten by his mother mercilessly everyday which causes the boy take his aggression toward his mother (cause) out on people around him (effect), the father is not in the picture to help (effect) because he is a degenerate low life who cannot hold down a job to take care of his family or teach his son right from wrong (cause). The stress from dysfunctional home life has caused the boy to also take that anger out on teachers (cause) when he is told to do something simple like share with other kids, and he picks fights with other kids to feel in control (effect).
Ehiorobo (2012) reports that kids that are being bullied at home and at school are the subject of suicide cases and as long as bullying exists the suicide ratio will increase (Ehiorobo, 2012, pg.1). What some people do not seem to realize is that kids that are bullied are later driven to homelessness (cause) because they will always entertain the thought that things will not get better for them, and they will not come back (effect). Bullying has very powerful effects on people, but kids are the ones who are the most susceptible to it. Kids who are bullied at an early age and shut out from people along with certain groups (cause), are later forced to be lone wolves (effect). The problems associated with this is all too familiar, those kids go on to be gang members who kill for an audience or for the thrill (cause); being pushed into life in the street will guarantee them ending up homeless (effect).
The worst case scenario, bullied kids become the tormentors (effect) and the ones that did the bullying get a taste of their own medicine (cause) with dangerous results. Overall, bullying is a cycle that never ends and people who choose to ignore it are usually the ones who were ignored (cause) when they were being bullied themselves (effect); it is a sad state of affairs.
