Chinese art is one of the oldest art forms in the world. It is a visual art form in which the succession of many dynasties as well as landscapes, flora and fauna are displayed. The art was produced in large industrial factories and were sold within and outside of China. It is mainly based on Chinese culture and heritage. The Chinese tradition is displayed in various ways with the use of different techniques. This trade was carried out on a high scale to express how rich the Chinese tradition was. The art was, usually, carried out by scholars, merchants, court painters and skilled craftsman. The a the type of art known as the ink wash painting produced and spread creativity and values. Even though, the Western art is the leading form of art in today’s world, Chinese contemporary art has also been successful in creating a position in the category of the most famous art forms.
Chinese paintings are, usually, made using the technique that is used for Chinese calligraphy. The paintings were created using a brush, coloured or black ink. There are two different types of methods used in Chinese paintings. Gong-bi that means “meticulous” is one of them. In this method, the brushstrokes are highly detailed. They are coloured and mainly depict human figures. This was a common practise in the royal court of the time. The other technique used for paintings is the ink wash painting which is also known as watercolour painting or freehand-style painting.
I think Chinese art is an art which is full of creativity. It familiarises people with the rich and ancient tradition of China. I believe that the best way of displaying culture can be through paintings. They tell us how and what materials and colours were used in the ancient times. They also help us how these techniques and colours have evolved over time. By watching the details of the Chinese paintings, we can assume

positions of dynasties and their achievements. We can also assume the nature of the Chinese society by comparing the ancient and modern Chinese artworks. The artwork of China is one of the best artworks which can be displayed on walls of both, houses, as well as workplaces. The simplicity of it explains it all. It gives me, as a viewer, peace of mind. However, I do think that it is not very easy to make a painting of that kind. It takes a person several years of training to be skilled or an expert in Chinese art.
The painting provided is an ink wash painting as it includes the drawing of flowers. By noticing the painting, we can assume that it has the dominance of the colour black. Most of the beautiful things, I believe, are simple and so is this painting. In the following painting, we can express the strong nature as well as direction of the wind, from left to right. Thus, Chinese art is a very valuable art and so it is to be preserved.
