Question 1.
The full mission statement for the company is “Clifton metal products, full- service metal fabricators, is dedicated to high quality at a reasonable cost. Whether producing small runs, a prototype, more several thousand pieces, we use our expertise in custom sheet metal fabrication and personal attention to get the job done right and delivered to you on time. ” (Clifton metal products Co., Inc., 2001). The mission statement provides the strategic direction necessary for the success of this company. This is because it clearly indicated what the company wants to achieve and gives the public a general overview of what the company tends to achieve in the long run. However, the mission statement does not bring the necessary meaningful changes since it just states what seems obvious (Evans, 2014).
Question 2.
The mission statement can be improved to read as follows; “providing an excellent quality material at a friendly cost. An all time and all round service provider”. The vision of the company can be made to sound better and lucrative thus it should be read as follows:” To be the number one quality metal provider that meets the customer preference both locally and globally.” The guiding principle should also read as “Maintaining integrity and quality in business 27/7”
Question 3.
The dimension of product design can be applied to services in very many ways. Firstly, reliability can be achieved by ensuring that there is integrity at all stages of service delivery. Performance and aesthetics come hand in hand, as they are achieved through meeting of the deadline required by the client and ensuring ethics at every stage of the transaction (Evans et.al, 2008).
Question 4.
The Hoshin planning refers to a statement that describes the desired outcome of a particular year, the means by which the outcome is achieved and measured within that stipulated time (Akan, 2004). This approach is used in organizations to keep track of the annual targets and on to how to strategize and accomplish the objectives. In addition, it is also applied to account for annual activities projected for a particular objective.
