The business has grown exponentially, with various universities (such as NYU) offering academic courses on e-sports business and focusing on the popular Starcraft franchise. Popular gaming companies have attracted millions of fans with high-quality video games and made exponential profits, such as 5th Planet Games that made a profit on $10 million in 2013.
Lastly, e-sports are also viewed by experts as an ornamental sport. People from all spheres of life, ethnicity, gender, beliefs and attitudes are united through a common internet portal and for a common purpose (to play and to win). We make new friends through online gaming. Live streaming channels provide an opportunity for game watching enthusiasts to unite, support and cheer for their favorite team. Just like baseball, football and basketball, e-sports are an equally absorbing form of sport that enhances memory and increases reflexes of the game players. These sports also provide an opportunity for the audience to place their bets and gamble on whom or which team will win the tournament.
