The aims of this research are
CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Define the term “drug exposed babies”
Explain how babies get exposed to drugs
Chapter one will give a background of expectant mothers, their social behaviours especially with drug addiction
This chapter will tie the relation between mother being on drug and its effects on the baby becoming drug addicted
CHAPTER 2: METHODOLOGY
Interview managers and care givers in the selected foster care facilities
Observe the selected children in each foster care facility
Locate environmental and other factors that further contributes to the observed issues
CHAPTER 3: LITERATURE REVIEW
Illustrate why these babies end up in foster care even though some of their parents are a live
A: This chapter shall offer an in depth discussion of drug exposed children with regards to:
Pre-exposure to drugs during pregnancy
Effects of the drugs on the babies (Blakeslee, 1990)
Children comfort and conducive learning and living environment provided at the facilities
Financial sustainability and its effects on child care, facility maintenance, and salaries among others
Steps involved in adopting children exposed to drugs and the information that adopting parents need to have (AdoptionConnection, 2016)
Factors to consider when caring for drug exposed children (adoption.com, 2013)
Any other relevant information on factors such as learning and general childcare
Consider case studies from other countries
B: This section shall investigate other effects of drug exposure to children. How this factor affects growth and development (cognitive, emotional, behavioural and learning abilities among babies) and other late effects on adolescent and adulthood in general
Drug exposure with regard to addiction (Needel & Barth, 1996)
Effects on cognitive, behavioural, mental, physical and emotional developments
Effect on earning abilities and academic achievement in schools as the child grows
The benefits that the drug exposed babies get in the foster care facilities
Intervention methods used in the facilities (Barth, 2016)
CHAPTER 4: results and findings
This chapter states the results and outcomes of the study
CHAPTER 5: Data and analysis
This section shall present the findings established in chapter four.
CHAPTER 5: DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This section shall analyze and discus the findings of the research project and offer plausible explanation with regard to drug exposed babies in foster care
CHAPTER 6: CONCLUSION
This chapter will conclude the thesis.
