While searching for the proper presentation, I came across a TED video of social psychologist Emily Balcetis. There were a great variety of presentations to analyze, but I came up with the idea that it would be interesting to investigate the speech of a person who explores the perception of others. Her works focus mainly on the image that our mind creates according to our personal biases.
She sounds absolutely confident and presents herself as a truly knowledgeable and devoted specialist. Moreover, she gives her own examples which help to create personal atmosphere. With regards to this, she managed not to restrain herself, but act naturally as she softens her tone while mentioning her own memories. Additionally, she successfully imitates the tone of fake promises people give to themselves. It is a good trick to depict the irony, but not to offend.
The pattern of her vocal strategy is eclectic and rhythmic. Generally, her speech is divided properly, and audience has enough time to think about the information. Sentences are finished. It could be felt with the falling intonation and a pause in the end. However, sometimes she is too quick in expressing one idea in the sentence. For example, she does not talk clearly while giving an example about president election and photos. Apart from that, her speech is full of questions, but one could not understand whether the speaker needs his answer at all. In fact, she does not give time to reflect. In contrast, she wants to stay on a good terms with everyone and at the same time rises her tone while specifying some common ideas.
