Research Method/ Research Design
The research method that will be used shall be self-administered food frequency questionnaire that will be used for at least 59 adults, who are age 67 to 93, who have the same experience of having the fear of falling and balance deficit. The data will be collected using a self-administered questionnaire that will specifically determine whether dieting and exercise will improve the quality of life of ageing populations who have disabilities and injuries.
The researcher shall use the qualitative study on the relationship that exists between dietary factors and ageing status and other various factors such as food intake, physical activity, and age.
The dependent variables that will be used for the study will include the frequency of falls, proper diet and frequency of exercise that the participants go through for each week. The independent variables will include age, food intake, injuries and disabilities declared by the participants on the questionnaires.
The experimental task or observation you will be observing is whether obesity among the ageing population will improve their quality of life through proper diet, control of food intake and by increasing their physical activities.
For the analysis of the data that will be collected, the researcher will determine whether the disabilities that are experienced by the ageing populations with disabilities and injuries can be reduced through diet and proper exercise, and in effect will improve their quality of life. Other determining factors that will be considered include chronic pain in relation to old age resulted to cardiovascular diseases and sensory disorders which can have a significant effect on their physical activities and overall quality of life. There will be an analysis on the effect of the balance training program to the ageing population who are obese to improve their overall quality of life.
