Bridging the ancient and modern customs
The East Asia history has a direct connection to the Chinese Dynasties which dominated the place in aspects of trade and military, like the Han and Qin Dynasties. In coming up with this excerpt in the sixteenth-century, the author had several target groups of people relating them to several aspects of their culture and times. In writing this article, the author had several goals he intended to achieve. One major goal was creating a bridge between the ancient culture and the modern world. In as much us there is growth and development over time in the world, the author shifts his focus to the young generation. He appreciates their existence and the modern world but at the same time insists the need of studying the meaning of actions and words that were used in the ancient times. By saying that people should not be carried away by new customs but should remember and exercise ancient principles, the author appreciates both modern and ancient customs and therefore tries to create a bridge where everyone can appreciate all the customs.
Educating the community morally and improving their living standards
In addition, the author educates all groups of people ranging from the old, to the middle aged who have a parental role and to the community as a whole. There is an intention of improving the living standards of the community as well as their moral standards. This is evident when he talks to parents on how to raise their children with obedience and their unique role and authority. His intention of improving living standards of the community is seen when he talks of different methods of farming at the same time insists on learning for the young group. He advocates hard work for those who have chosen Confucian scholarship. Giving alternative methods of farming to the community and discouraging unnecessary spending in social functions such as weddings and birthdays clearly show the intention of the author.
CONCLUSION
In this article, the author has a positive intention of educating the community. His wish is to see people living a comfortable life of good moral standard. He would wish to see a well round community where there is no poverty and everyone has a responsibility to play in shaping the community.
