2. Intel Case
Is Yong Li, the only employee who feels an emotional connection to the firm, or does the firm have other employees who might feel the same way?
Yong Li is a driven and aggressive account manager. Li was removed from a special project he was doing and was focused to devote his time as the company’s account manager. However, Yong Li did not take this decision lightly and was emotional about it. Yong Li felt some loss of self-esteem. Li was conscientious about his function as account manager and sees that his achievements as ambassador of Intel is not something to be questioned about and instead such role should bring added value to Li’s function in projects which he has undertaken to improve. Li felt insulted by Tang’s decision to discharge him from doing the project because for him, his efforts were disregarded and that he was removed from the project without any deliberation at all. In this case, Yong Li is not the only person who has an emotional connection to the firm. Tang, too, has emotional connection to the company because he takes into account the feelings of his colleagues towards Li’s demanding way of winning concessions for clients.
