I definitely agree with Ms. Osswald’s thoughts. A conflict is not always a negative issue, as it often plays a role of motivator. The absence of any conflicts prevents the development of the suggested idea that can be raw at the beginning. Experiencing first-hand, I can say that teamwork suggests the quiet solution of the conflict, listening of all suggested remarks, discussion, and necessary corrections. I have never worked with conflict-free teams, as the members of my team always suggested their ideas to identify and discuss the best of them, and it allowed us to share responsibility for our projects and reduced my fear to speak up. In my opinion, conflicts in the workplace appear because of people who are not able to accept criticism and do not listen to their colleagues. The good team leader can escape conflicts being polite and respective and listening to the opinion of others, and it is important to develop these skills in yourself.
