Thesis statement: Junk food a main cause of obesity, overweight and many other diseases
Introduction:
- Junk Food
A healthy nutritional diet consists of minimal quantity of fast food consumption. Junk and fast foods have high quantities sodium, fat, and sugar, which leads to obesity and several other health issues.
A large amount of fat that junk food consists will make an individual obese and gain weight. The higher consumption of junk food, the higher weight one gains and a higher risk of serious diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and arthritis would exist. (Fitday.com)

- Junk food causes a damage to heart & liver
A greater risk of heart disease would exist due to high levels of fat and sodium in junk food which would raise cholesterol levels in the body. The Trans fatty acids found in higher levels in most of the junk foods can lead to fatty deposits of liver, and can cause liver dysfunction and disease over a period of time.
- Junk food leads to Diabetes
The blood sugar level will fall soon after consumption of junk food because protein or intense carbohydrates required by the body which need to sustain blood sugar levels, aren’t a part of the diet and a person would want to eat sweet and might end up eating more and more junk food. (Fitday.com)
- Junk food plays a role in poor performance of an individual and obesity
Eating junk food causes diseases like hypertension or high blood pressure. Excessive dietary sodium in the junk food can even lead to a kidney disease. Junk food leads in poor performance of the body, making a person feel tired and lazy which might also affect the concentration level in the body due to a shortage of oxygen in the body. Conclusion:
As we all know that junk food isn’t healthy for our body, but our lack of knowledge regarding its symptoms. Moreover, the negative effects that make us ignore these facts and we continue to make junk food a part of our daily lives which leads to diseases and severe illnesses being caused in our body, including obesity.
