Question One
Values are the things that are vital to us. They can also be described the things that we believe are essential in the way as human beings we work and live. My values in life include happiness, wisdom, love, friendship, success, hard work, truthfulness, openness, commitment, accountability, and joy. Ideally, I can describe these values as the things that are imperative in how I live as well as work. They help me in determining my priorities in life. In other words, these values help me develop a clearer sense of the things that are most vital in my life. They are also the yardsticks, which I make use of to determine whether my life is turning out the way I want it to be. Connecting with core values according to Portelance (N.p), helps us live happily. It is essential to mention that I usually feel contented because the way I behave and the things, which I do in my life match the values above.
The above values provide me with my sense of purpose in life. In particular, my purpose in life is to encourage other individuals to discover their true potential and succeed in life. In leadership circumstances, the follower and the leader have values, which are rarely similar (Northouse 274). I have attested to this in my leadership experience. Ideally, I have discovered that I have to hold my followers and myself to differing personal values so as to be a good leader. My values as mentioned above influence my leadership by providing me with support as well as direction, especially when I am making decisions. In essence, these values significantly improve my leadership.

Question One
My score on the Leadership Vision Questionnaire is 39. Consequently, my ability to create a vision for a group is in the high range. I can further improve my abilities to create a well as carrying out visions with others through two specific ways. One of these ways is by visualizing the end outcomes and concentrating more on them throughout the process. In essence, Northouse (149) emphasizes that a leader is in a position to envision the positive results in the future and communicate them to others when developing a vision. Doing this would help me achieve my goal of creating desirable visions for the group and leading the members in accomplishing them. A feature of visions, as Northouse (151) maintains, is that it is about values. Thus, the other way I can improve my abilities to create a well as carrying out visions with others is by integrating my values with those of the group members. Northouse (275) suggests that a crucial facet of dealing with leadership and values is to recognize one’s values and integrate them with others’. Ideally, doing this would help me significantly enhance my abilities to create and carry out shared and engaging visions with others.
