Introduction
In today's world being a fierce debate about whether marijuana be legalized or not. In some countries, the legalization process has been completed. At the same time, many countries do not support the legalization of marijuana. Supporters of marijuana legalization point to the freedom of choice of every person: to eat or not marijuana should be decided by people, not the government. For example, alcohol is also harmful to health and is the cause of many problems with the law because of alcohol abuse occur worldwide each year, millions of road accidents. However, alcohol is legal in many countries. Opponents of the legalization of marijuana argue its position that the health problems caused by marijuana may be far more serious than it seems at first glance.
In this essay I will provide arguments in support of those who believe that marijuana should not be legalized.
Body
However, many experts agree that excessive marijuana use leads to serious health problems. For the reasoning of its position, experts use the findings of various scientific studies.
For example, in patients with a diagnosis of "multiple sclerosis", who had used marijuana for a long time, violated cognitive function. The risk of problems with the emotional state, the deterioration of short-term and long-term memory in these patients is higher than in those who did not use marijuana ("Smoking Marijuana Impairs Cognitive Function In MS Patients").
Another study confirms that patients with hepatitis C, there are complications in the use of marijuana. In the case of long-term marijuana use increases the risk of fibrosis and scarring of the liver ("Risk Of Hepatitis C-Related Liver Damage Increased By Regular Marijuana Use").
In a study of Australian scientists has been scientifically proven that much harm to the organism that causes marijuana in adolescence and childhood. If a teen marijuana use continued for a minimum of six years after reaching the age of majority, he will have an increased risk of psychosis. The likelihood of mental illness and psychosis is increased by 40% under the influence of long-term cannabis use (“Cannabis Use Raises Risk Of Psychotic Illness Later On By More Than 40%”).
Finally, the work of British scientists indicates that cannabis causes irreparable damage to human DNA. DNA people who use hemp, varies so that the chances of cancer greatly increases (“'Cannabis Alters Human DNA' - New Study”).
Conclusion
Summing up, I want to say once again, that marijuana is very harmful for human bodies. In this paper I have considered a number of credible and valid scientific researches. All of them support the claim that marijuana should not be legalized. However, even if the time will come when government allows its use, everyone should remember that it is our own decision – whether to use cannabis or not to use. After all, everyone should care and treat about his own health.
