Leonardo played the role of Jack Gatsby. He was able to portray some leadership principles that are relevant today in homes, organizations and even governments. This essay aims at discussing some of these principles that are so applicable today.
Communication
He has the ability to get his message across to the people. His speech is full of enthusiasm and confidence (Fleming 85). He quickly gains the trust of any audience he faces. Whether his story was real or not, he made others believe every word he said about himself.
Branding
Success in the world is associated with brands. Some brands are very popular that advertising does little to create more attention (Jones 150). Proper branding of a company or individual shows what the people can get from you. Efforts at branding should be consistent and clearly visible.
Adaptability
Circumstances keep changing, and it is important to change with the times. Sticking to the current situation will only make things worse (Fleming 99). Keep finding new approaches to life.
Seek knowledge
Gatsby's goal was to marry Daisy. He gathered all the details he needed about her. This information helped him brand himself to what she expected (Jones 105). Gathering information about a particular goal will make its realization faster.
Self-awareness
Gatsby shows excellent leadership skills. However, he makes the mistake of not being aware of the environment he lived in (Giardina 66). Leaders should be aware of their personal or organizational limits even when opportunities abound. Some realities cannot be changed, they are tolerated if necessary.
In conclusion, the Leonardo has portrayed some important leadership qualities that have a place today. Leaders can adapt these principles and improve their organizations or personal lives. In the highly competitive market, some of these qualities are quite useful.
