Problem Recognition
A print ad of a popular juice store states “We believe in the good stuff.” It also includes information on how they keep their products real and full of nutrients. This ad targets the ideal state of consumers to be healthy. Marketers recognized the problem of living healthy while making life easy. The ad influences the consumer by appealing to them through showing them that a healthy life can easily be attained through real and nutritious ingredients. At the same time, the ad clearly shows that this specific product is full of goodness. The consumer is able to recognize that they want to be healthy without having to give up delicious food.
The common notion is that healthy eating is usually boring and tasteless. Upon seeing this ad, the marketers are able to catch the consumer’s attention by showing them that nutritious food can also be good and absolutely delicious.
Decision Making
I interviewed my friend on his decision making process for toothpaste. There is alow-effort placed into decision making as he uses choice tactics like brand loyalty, price, and habit. He realized that it is a habit for him to automatically go to the Colgate section. He is loyal to Colgate but tries different kinds of toothpastes. He tries products with new features like its whitening ability, longer lasting fresh breath, or a different flavor. Based on price, he may shift from one kind of toothpaste to another, especially if there is some kind of sale or promotion.
