In the preliminary questions, I answered that I`m obliged to save other people`s life, that torture is not always morally wrong, that sometimes killing of another person is not wrong.
I think that we obliged to save other people`s life if we have the possibility to do it because it is morally right. Also, I answered that morality is not always determined by sum of happiness of other people because what make people happy, satisfied, glad is not always useful for them. Moral and happiness are not always associated with each other as I believe.
Also, I believe that sometimes it is not wrong to cause another person`s death. I believe that there are some people the death of which can save many lives. For example, such bad people as cannibal Albert Fish (who cruelly killed innocent children), drug lord Pablo Escobar (who distributed drugs) and other were better to die, to be killed than to commit their crimes.
I answered that torture can be justified from the moral perspective because there are different situations. The last scenario demonstrate one of that unordinary situations when you must make another person suffer to save other people`s lives.
However, I understand that there is a fine line between situations when torture and causing death can be morally justified and when moral is the only justification for humans` cruelty, etc. For example, Nazi, as we can suppose, believed that they were moral and they “sacrificed” thousands of Jews to save Aryan race.
In the first scenario, I answered that the main character of the story may to sacrifice one life to save five other people.
In the second scenario, I answered that it is wrong to push one innocent man to save other five people. I imagined that situation and understood that it would be a murder to push a man on the railways. In the first scenario, people were under the same conditions but in the second situation, he man was absolutely innocent ant did not deserve to die.
In the third scenario, I answered that a man who caused the accident deserved to be pushed on the railway if it could save lives of other people. In the fourth scenario, I answered that the police may torture a man to get the information which can save lives of millions of people.
My answers to scenario questions were highly consistent (100% of consistency). However, one of my answers on scenario questions contradicted to my answer of one of the preliminary questions.
Answering preliminary questions I indicated that moral actions are not always those actions which increase the sum of happiness of different people. At the same time, in the one scenario question, I answered that the main character of the first scenario must sacrifice the life of one person to save five other people.
My answers to the scenario`s questions were also highly consistent with answers to most of the people. However, I answered preliminary questions in a different way in comparison to most of the people. For example, most of the people identify torture as morally unacceptable while I think that it morally right in particular situations.
This experiment demonstrated to me that I have some stable moral principles. It also showed me that apply my moral principles to different situations and people depending on people`s responsibility for consequences of a situation.
I was surprised to read that for some people fatness of a person can influence their conclusions and decisions.
