The OSHA interactive lockout-Tagout training is a program that enables employee’s locks or tags machines in order to conduct maintenance. The employees are required to use the devices for Lockout or Tagout standard. OSHA program can be used in areas where energy control procedures are applied. The energy devices are put to power source, hence contains stored energy that prevents transmission or release of energy. The machine has many advantages, but it does not lack some limitations (Haviland, et al., 2012). The main purpose of the development of OSHA program is to maintain the safety and health of the employees and employers. The proficient manner of management of workers' health and safety is a vital factor in making sure that there is reduced work-related illnesses and injuries. The program is the best in ensuring that workers are safe, hence saving money and time. The program is highly beneficial in safety and health training, worksite analysis, preventing and controlling hazardous activities and management of leadership and employee (Haviland, et al., 2012). Some of the program's limitations include lack of specific procedures to each equipment that could ensure control of energy sources, and inappropriate use of locks when employees apply the wrong procedures of using the program. Apparently, according to OSHA , working with someone’s lock is not advisable as this may result in accidents considering that one person is forced to follow another person’s leads. In conclusion, employers and employees should make sure that they work within their jurisdiction in order to avoid accidents and injuries. The employers should also put clear procedures on the machines that are used for the program, and the locks should be placed in the proper form (Haviland, et al., 2012).
