The first problem that should be addressed first is communication standstill between the five courts. Communication is the process of conveying information from one party to the other. Clear communication between two or more individuals is essential in maintaining trust, confidence and honesty. Communication breakdown is a great cause of conflict and mistrust within workplaces. Moreover, poor communication can lead to unnecessary gossips due to uncertainty and speculations (Goodall, Goodall, & Schiefelbein, 2009). Consequently, this leads to backbiting among employees who feel frustrated all the time. Employees in such organizations feel frustrated and become demoralized. For instance, in this scenario, the communication breakdown between the five courts is the major source of all the other problems such as low employee morale and unwillingness to corporate with each other as well as other county offices. Moreover, communication breakdown makes it difficult to have an idea of the challenges employees are facing.
There are various ways through which the communication problem can be resolved. Firstly, representatives from the five courts should be asked to form a committee that would help to identify and resolve problems within the courts. Within this committee, a clear strategy of how to resolve the communication standstill will be identified. For instance, the representatives will air their frustrations out. After that, each representative will have a meeting with the court employees. The employees will get a chance to air out their views on how to make the courts more efficient. Secondly, there is a need to hire a communication officer whose main duty is to facilitate smooth communication between the courts and the employees. Clear communication channels such as emails, memos and face to face meetings should also be employed in resolving the communication standstill (Muema, 2013).
