Night Time Economy
The economic activities that takes place at night time hours is referred to Night Time Economy. Post industrialization is one of the major factors which have led to the emergence of the night time economy. Night time economy caters those who wish to spend their leisure time after the working hours. It has contributed a lot in the economy and is emerging at a very fast rate. Many countries especially United Kingdom and Australia are focusing on the night time economy for the betterment of their economy. Research has shown that the economy of any country will boost because of the night time working hour as it is an addition in the economy. There are many benefits of it but night time economy has many cons attached to it as well. In this paper, we will focus on the impact of night time economy on social and economic factors.
Night time economy contributes a lot in the economy is a major part of it. Improvements can be made in the economy if night time economy is promoted in a country. Economical change in the economy has helped in emerging the night time economy. Governance reorientation is also a major factor which is favorable for night time economy. There are economic and social factors which are to be discussed as these are the factors on which night time economy impacts the most.
Post industrialization is a stage where the manufacturing sector of the economy is lower as compared to the services sector. Service sector develops in post-industrialization as many people spend their leisure time at night. Globalization also plays an important role in post-industrialization. People who come from other countries to work adds the most to it as they only find the night time to engage in activities. The services provided by hotels and clubs are the one that has improved the night time economy. The services are mostly attained by people at night that is why post-industrialization leads to night time economy (Roberts & Eldridge, 2012).
People of a society, where services sector add more to revenue than the manufacturing sector, have to go through many difficulties at night. At night there are more cases of violent crimes as compared to the day time. Drinking in public is main issue of night time activities and people indulge themselves in different types of crimes after drinking. Robberies and intruding in the neighborhood is also included in the cons of night time activities (Stevenson & Matthews, 2013).
There are many social factors which are impacted by the night time activities. The people from other countries who come to work are the main users of the night services. They come to know about the social and cultural values of a country. They can analyze the difference in the habits of people and their activities at night. The social and cultural values of a society are displayed with the night time activities. Night time activities have an impact on the social and cultural values of a society. Some consider it not good ethically as it promotes violence, abuse and excessive use of alcohol. Night time activities have a negative impact on the values and culture of people (Cooper, 2012; Finney, 2004).
Social mobility is one of the most important social factors which can be identified by night time activities. Night time economy gives a rise in the standard of living of the people. The economy improves because of the night time economy so does the standard of living of people of that economy. Standard of living increases due to the factor of per capita income which increases because of the in National Income (N.I.). The social mobility of individuals and families improves because of post-industrialization which increases night time economy (Bell, 2008).
Behavior of people of the society is also a social factor. It is a fact that night time service activities increase the intake of alcohol which is one of the causes of inappropriate behavior. People can come to know about the ethical values of a society by the actions taken by the government to control the violence at night in the society. It is the government’s responsibility to take of its people and to protect them from any type of violence prevailing in the society at any time. Night time activities gives rise to crime and violence and it is the duty of the government to take measurable steps to stop such unethical activities (Moore et al., 2007).
Night time activities should also take measurable steps to avoid noise pollution. It is the social responsibility of every citizen as well as the people who carry out their businesses at night, that they must not disturb other people at night. The night time activities usually include businesses like hotels and clubs. Loud music must be avoided in such places so that it does not disturb other people at night. Social factors are an important part of a society and must be taken care of. Night time business which contributes a lot to the society must also take steps to protect the society as the human needs which is a part of the social factor is the most important aspect of the country (Moore et al., 2007).
Post industrialization leads to night time economy to a greater extent and it has an impact on the social life of the people. There are cons attached to social life of the people but it proves to be great in terms of the standard of living of people. The economy increases and the per capita income increases as well but the cultural values are affected by this. It is more upon a person how they live in the society and what type of activities they indulge themselves into. The ethical values depend upon the person more than the night time activities and because of such unethical habits of people night time activities should not be stopped.
Post industrialization has a substantial role in the night time economy and it impacts the economic factors as well. The economics factors can be controlled by the government if the economy is doing well. It is very beneficial for a country to improve its economy and it is forecasted that night time economy helps in improving the whole economy. Post industrialization reduces the usage of natural resources and helps the economy to flourish with the service sector. Gross domestic product (GDP) and per capita income, Inflation, Taxes and Globalization are a few economic factors which are influenced with the night time economy.
Night time economy improves the economy as a whole which increases a country’s GDP and per capita income. The improvement in GDP and per capita income represents that a country is doing good economically in the world. It attracts investors from other countries to make an investment as their investment will be more beneficial. More investment will keep on improving the economy (Roberts & Eldridge, 2012).
It has been made clear above that the economy improves because of the addition done in it by night time economy. Inflation of a country can be controlled if the economy is flourishing. Inflation rate is a key element in every economy and it needs to be controlled. If the inflation is not controlled then it has an adverse effect on the people of that country. Inflation of a country can be controlled if the economy of a country is flourishing. As night time economy improves the overall economy of a country, the inflation rate can also be controlled (Hout et al., 1993).
Post industrialization leads to night time economy, which improves the economy of a country. When the economy of a country improves the government spending increases and decreases the inflation. When the economy flourishes the people are able to pay taxes which increase the government spending. The government spending is for the people of a country and provides benefits to them. Post industrialization gives a boost to the economy and it is beneficial for the people. Government must promote nighttime economy as it helps the people of that country. It is the government’s duty to provide benefits to the people and it can be done through more government spending (Rose, 1991).
Globalization is one of the major economic factors. Globalization improves the economy of a country. Post industrialization improves the economy of a country and a flourishing economy attracts people of different countries to perform the operations of their business in that country. Night time economy is an addition in the economy and it improves the economy which attracts investors to do business. Globalization brings opportunities for the people as well. It increases the job opportunities for the people (Scholte, 2005; Ritzer, 2009).
In this paper, it can be concluded that the post-industrialization leads to night time economy. Night time economy makes an addition in the economy and is very beneficial for the growth of a country. There are cons of night time economy but the benefits derived from the night time activities helps the government to maintain a strong economy. Night time economy has a great impact on social and economical factors. It attracts foreign investors to invest in the country which increases job opportunities. Government can control inflation with night time economy. From many books it has been observed that post-industrialization leads to night time economy which increases a country’s National Income (Bell, 2008).
It is recommended that the government should promote the night time economy because it flourishes the economy as a whole. Post industrialization helps in operating the night time activities and such activities must be appreciated by the government as such activities generate revenue to a greater extent. The violence aspect attached with the night time activities must be controlled by the government as it is their duty to provide protection to its people. Night time activities must not be stopped because of the criminal activities; government should provide protection and promote post-industrialization which leads to night time economy.
