In the recent years, the sports fashion has reached all the regions of the world and all the possible Internet and social resources. Popularizing sports in the United States is a good thing to do, especially, when the country suffers such a harsh problem of obesity among both, adults and children. However, making sports popular is not the only thing necessary. It is important to make people aware of the correct ways of going in for sport, choosing right activities and nutrition which would contribute to a safe weight-loss without any harm to the people’s health.
The article Measuring and Evaluating Body Composition written by Ph.D. T. Esmat describes the matter of body composition, the role of fitness and nutrition in the creating of a healthy and desired body composition. The author states that in the process of tracking the weight people do not consider such notion as body composition or shape. First and foremost, it is necessary to explain the notion of body composition. Under body composition, we understand the relation between the fat and the lean mass of the human’s body. Many of them prefer seeing a lower weight number on their scales and ignore the fact how their bodies look like. However, in some time comes the moment when people notice that their weight is desired but the body does not look like the expected. This is caused by the fact that the body composition was not taken into account.
A lot of people believe that excluding fats from their nutrition would help them to lose weight and attain the perfect body. However, many people may notice that though the weight of the body may be bigger but the composition may look perfect and give the better outlook rather than a human with a lower weight. This is caused by two factors: nutrition and exercising.
According to Esmat, there are several ways of assessing body composition. In order to assess one’s body composition, one should calculate the percentage of fat and lean mass within the body. It may be performed with the help of the formulas and skinfold measurements, BOD POD measurements, and bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). The author recommends trusting the professionals in this calculation as well as they may help to assess the body composition and according to these results they may compose the nutrition plan and physical exercises schedule which would help a person to reach the correct correlation between fat and lean mass and attain the desired body.
Very often some people make a huge mistake when they think that they may achieve a strong and attractive body with the help of nutrition or purely physical activities purely, ignoring one of these components. For the right and healthy body composition, these factors must be combined and only in such a case there will be the desired effects.
The assessment of the body composition is very important as well as it serves as an indicator of whether the nutrition and the physical activities work well or not. With the help of body composition it is possible to find out whether there is a risk of obesity or not, what should be done in order to avoid it or what should be done in order to gain some healthy weight (Esmat, 2016).
Going in for sport is a great habit and an indicator of a conscious and responsible person. However, sport, as any other activity, has its rules and milestones of successful implementation. Being aware of the important factors, such as body composition, nutrition, and physical activity may make the process of going in for sport really effective and satisfying.
