Becoming a professional nurse is not an easy task because it is a transition. The first challenge that I faced is time constraints. Multitasking schoolwork, family, and personal life is cumbersome. I was able to overcome the time constraints by having a timetable schedule for every task that I was to complete. Professional nursing has more courses that are done so that professionalism is realized. On the other hand, I faced financial constraints. Programs in professional nursing require additional money to run. Pursuing additional courses requires that a person part with the funds for the course. To overcome this, I sought from other sources of cash for example from friends and well-wishers. I failed in getting the grant required for helping me in advanced nursing studies. Grants act as a booster for students who cannot afford the full fee. A person should get full fee to enable them go on with the professional nursing course.
The nursing profession is an ever-changing environment. The workforce is dynamic and getting accommodate workforce may seem futile. Because of the differences, I found a difficult time conforming to the requirements and what is stipulated in the nursing calendar. To overcome the challenges, I consulted other people who have been in the system to get the basic of surviving. Asking peers helped me to fit in because they got the immediate solution for newcomers into the nursing profession. It became easier for me to learn and become more conversant with the aspects of the learning institution. Another challenge I experienced is the language barrier. A stalemate comes in because of differences in the language. I was able to overcome the barrier by learning the languages that were offered together with the professional course. However, the challenges acted as a stepping-stone in my professional nursing career.
