(A) Big five personality test.
The big five personality test is used to determine the different character traits of individuals comparing their reactions after going through several tests that bring out their characters.
Individuals check through a list provided to them by the different reactions that may occur when one is passing through a given condition like stress and showing what results are expected. The person carrying out the test marks every character according to the observations made in line with his behavior. After marking, all that have been marked for example reactions in terms of letters are all gathered and summed up to determine the person's personality.
The value of the personality test instrument is that it helps one to know who they are, what they are best at, their weaknesses and strength. This helps to improve one’s character by working on the weaknesses to bring out the power, learn to control extreme reactions and also to always focus on what one can do best according to the personality test that suits their character.
The instrument may not be accurate which may be an obstacle to an individual's progress relying on it because personality traits can at times be suppressed or altered by other factors like drug abuse and performance enhanced chemicals.
The instrument supports both leaderships and managing work.It helps the bosses or leaders to know which individuals are suitable for a given task and how to relate to each worker according to the traits manifested. It improves on people handling skills that help to bring the best out of a human resource.
(B)Disc.
It operates by marking out the different behaviors of an individual. It is required that one is honest to themselves if they want to know their right personality but picking out honestly those characters that suit them.
The information is gathered and grouped in different sections according to sex either male or female and the varying traits shown at a given time and condition.
This is helpful in pointing out one’s state according to different conditions like calm, social, confident depending on the comparisons made from the character tables created.
Its limitations are that it doesn’t exhaust all the options that may exist to bring out the right personality traits of an individual. The conclusions made after summing the characters used to show a figure are not accurate because the experiment is limited to a small range of traits from which the testing is done.
Even though it's limited, it supports management work because it aids managers on how to handle and treat their human resource in order to get the best out of them. It is also useful in the allocation of assignments because each is assigned what to do according to their strength showed in the personality test experiment carried out.
The disc test connects both the management work and those being managed ensuring efficiency and the best output from both management and subordinates. The workers can work on the areas that need to be improved as displayed through the test that helps them to become better at work.
It requires a proper knowledge of how it works, how to get the right trusted results from individuals that are grouped into a table and graphs to come up with the final result.
