Nowadays many Muslim girls have an opportunity to go to different countries to get education. Therefore, there are many Muslim girls in Canada. It is necessary to know that honor is very important for Muslim girl because it is a part of the culture where they were brought up.
There is a common misunderstanding that Muslim girls are submissive and behave in this way just because their families told them to do so. However, it is far from being the truth. Muslim girls respect their traditions and culture in which they were raised. They express their gratitude by wearing certain type of clothes, such as hijab or scarf. They usually cover their shoulders. However, the question rises how well such behavior fits into Canadian culture. It fits very well. There is nothing wrong in cherishing and appreciating your roots. In such a way women show how moral they are. One of the article says: “Abou El Fadl notes that ascribing the notion of fitnah to women’s bodies unduly places upon them a burden of public morality and the responsibility of curtailing the desires of men” (Zine 41).
Therefore, Muslim women represent the notion of morality in Canadian society. Also, they show respect to the culture that they were raised n. It is necessary to say that they do so on their own will because they are proud of whom they are.
