I agree with everything that you have mentioned in your review. There are a lot of things to add, still, it was a good writing. The first thing that stroke me was the mentioning a good portfolio in a perspective of modern technologies. I have never thought how it is important to have a really informative portfolio before. If you upload your portfolio on the Internet everybody can see it and make some conclusions. That is why it is really important to pay attention to what is in your portfolio.
The second thing that I like in your writing was mentioning that last week samples gave us a clear understanding who took its composition seriously and who did not. An interesting, sometimes creative, portfolio can show an employer that a person is truly interested in finding a good job. The more information you provide in your portfolio the bigger outcome you'll get.

I see that you choose more individual and personal approach towards this review and provide us with the great idea of your former teachers. I found it really interesting and useful to collect all the meaningful writings of a student. It enables a student to see themselves in progress. They are given an opportunity to compare and learn from their own mistakes, as well as observe their development and success.
Also, I like the idea to be personal when you write. Sometimes it can be useful. I believe, all the employers at some point can say that they saw all the patterns of a portfolio that exist on the Internet. Being personal can help you to show that you are not afraid of mistakes and it is more useful to be yourself than to impress a person with fake information and untruthfulness. It may become the peculiarity which will provide you with your next job.
