Marriage as an institution is changing that it can be a legal union between two mature people of the opposite sex or in some cases between people of the same sex to live together or just to partner in a relationship. Traditionally, it was morally accepted that only a man and woman are the people who used to form such unions or agreements to live together. The world has changed a great deal. It is the first instance of change that is being experienced in the marriages. The morals that used to guide the unions made have changed. Marriage as an institution in America is changing that it has been realised that people engage in early marriages more than it used to be done in the past. The most commonly practised form of marriage is the come we stay type. People do not even want to inform their parents. They simply elope with one another. After a short time, these people breakup. These are some of the reasons that have made marriages change.
Some of the signs that show that marriages that are no longer expected to last a lifetime is include people currently propose can just stay on their own. The trend of single parenthood is gradually increasing in the society. Men and women believe that once they have children of their choice. Then they do not need to have wives or husbands. It is mainly seen with the female gender. They get pregnant and once they have given birth; they do away with a man. The men are used the same way bulls are used in the artificial insemination plants after the bull has fertilized the cow, then it everywhere.
Another sign show that marriages are no longer expected to last a lifetime is also the upsurge of the deadbeat dads. These are the fathers that do not have the feelings of their families at heart. These people do not care for the well-being of their families. What amuses is that they even have organizations that fight for their well fare. It by a larger extent shows that marriages are no longer expected. People fear bearing the responsibility of taking care of a family.
The possible social effect of viewing marriage as a less than a permanent relationship is that it results in the children being denied the parental love that they need. Child who has been raised by a single parent faces some problems in his life. That child grows to know that only one parent is important. The implication is that these people when mature might also choose to live the same life that their parents were living. When it happens, it is seen that the problems of the society continues to manifest. Caution should therefore be taken to ensure that these social problems are avoided.
The possible social effect of viewing marriage as a less than permanent relationship is that a person or in this case a child might lack the father or the motherly figure when they are growing. Children, who face these conditions, always tend to lack the one of the parental figures in them. When, for example, a child that has been raised by a mother and he is a boy, will not know what a father does in the life of the child. When it happens, when they decide to marry, they might be in a problem of knowing what to offer their children. Arguably, similar situation might correspond for the other gender. There is a high possibility of the girl child to grow without a motherly love and mentorship when they are brought up by their dads. Correspondingly, it is important to pay attention to such scenarios and avoid situations where an individual lacks such basics in life.
Marriages are currently facing a lot of problems. The participants prefer to stay alone than being with their families and this affects the children greatly. Corresponding social disorientations from marital breakdown include children lacking the parental love. Notably, numerous changes arising from marriages affects the parents and the children, as well as, the society in its entirety.
