Admission Essay
Given a chance by the administration of USC Rossier, I not only expect to gain from their teachings, but also expect to contribute significantly to the academic and professional community. I will do this by utilizing my personal, educational, and employment background. I have a wealth of experience ranging from working at a Pre-Visa English school where I was training students who wanted to go to English speaking countries to teaching adopted Chinese children. I believe that the experience I have gathered from my employment background will enable me to contribute to the course development, reviews and upgrades at USC Rossier. This is because I have interacted with many students who learn English as a second language. As such, I know the challenges they undergo as they struggle to master English before proceeding for further studies away from their countries. I will, therefore, take this chance to suggest the incorporation of changes that would enable students to enjoy studying English as a second language.
Personally, I come from China. I have, therefore, studied English as my second Language. This is because my native language is Chinese. I believe that I would be an asset at USC Rossier as I would utilize my personal experience to encourage other non-native students to learn and embrace English as a second language. Further, I would utilize my experience to contribute to discussions in various seminars.
Lastly, I hope or rather expect to contribute to the academic and professional community at USC Rossier by becoming a research assistant. Through research assistance, I believe I will be of significant use to my professors as I would share my ideas with them. This would be essential as it will help them develop good research papers and topics.
