Moodle
Moodle is a company that provides learning management system services. The company is aimed at tapping the education market by providing software which promotes learning dynamics. In particular, the Learning management system produced by the company actually known as Moodle. The software requires implementations and maintenance because of its internal technology and vast subscriptions. The major functions of the software are to support multimedia classes, act as student dashboard, and also enable progressive talking. Also, the software contains a framework that supports third party plug-ins.
Pros and Cons of Moodle
Moodle being the key source of LMS in the market, provide massive support to their users by customizing it to their preferred specifications. Moodle users also benefit from online customer cares that are always available to attend on customer service issues. However, all the services offered by Moodle come with some inherent challenges. Moodle software is difficult to set- up and use. In addition to this, it is difficult to manage learners since the software has an incomplete recording database (Dalsgaard, 2015).
Blackboard
Blackboard is also big players in the eLearning market. The company released LMS software known as CourseSites. Essentially, the software caters for the needs of both the students and instructors (Black, 2015).
Pros and Cons
The software is not an open source and hence it lacks plague. In addition, it is user friendly since it was created to cater student needs with a simple interface. However, it lacks some features which make it less useful to the users. For example, the software does not achieve important aspects such as grading which make it less useful (Borges, 2014).
