Multiple intelligences theory is the ability of one to be smart in different fields of study. According to this theory, people have the ability to look at the world through logical mathematical analysis, spatial representation, and musical thinking that enables us to make thing or solve problems. Where people differ in is the magnitude of this intelligence and in the manners in which the intelligences are combined and evoked to handle a certain task and solve problems. It is this difference that challenges the educational system, which tends to assume that everyone can handle the same material in same manner. It is, therefore, important to note that people’s ways of learning are identifiably distinctive.
In my assessment, I tried to look at logical mathematical and linguistic abilities. Logical mathematical is referred to like how people calculate and think mathematically. This is a way of thinking conceptually and having the ability to see and explore relationship and patterns. People who possess this intelligence have interest in solving puzzles and asking cosmic questions. They have the ability to be taught through logic practices, mysteries, and investigation. They know the need to learn and evaluate the concepts before dealing with details.
In the first place, it may seem difficult to learn all leaning styles, however, as I went through the text, and by using a mix of multimedia and media it was realized that it is something achievable. When it comes to achieving this intelligence, it becomes obvious why media and multimedia appeals to learners and why they are effective. These sources satisfy a number of learning preferences that a class or a person may embody.
Linguistic intelligent also known as, word smart balances the whole existence of language. Language can be expressed in three main ways; oral, written and, non-verbal. However, this can be done by all people who know a certain language. Conversely, there are people who are able to speak more than one language and get it comfortable. In their definition (Zelko&Sindler, 2013) say, that linguistic intelligence is the ability to think of words and use such words to express a person’s thought to others. A verbal intelligent test how well some individuals can interact with others.
In my assessment of trying to learn many languages, I found that MIhas its strengths as well as limitation. MI enables one to be perfect in almost all fields of study. Says that he was not surprised to have a student who was good in all games like football, basketball’ and hockey. The same student was also academically excelling. It enables one to have an advantage over others since they can adapt in all sectors of learning. While trying to practice linguistic, I realized I had to focus on one thing that enabled me to lose interest in others. For example, I wanted to learn about other language, which was the only thing I was thinking of, hence, I ended up neglecting certain activities that I was good at as football.
In the test, a number of variablescontributed to my test results. The questions were many and almost the same; I ended up getting confused. The questions and the answering options looked familiarly resulting to confusion. On the other hand, the leading question made it easy to give accurate answers.
