The musical concert is Die Fledermaus a production of Johann Strauss that took place at the Royal Opera House in London in December 31, 1977. The musical concert is a musical orchestra taking place in a venue with a large gathering to witness and multiple performers. The performance was led by John Bacon as the chorus master, John Brown as the leader and Zubin Mehta as the conductor. The event was graced by performers from the royal opera chorus, dancers and servants of the orchestra of the royal house opera. According to the time and date which the performance was held, it was meant to ensure that the audience receive the New Year mood and have a memorable experience in ushering in the New Year 1978.
At the beginning of the concert, the mood created using the a cappella was a mood of fear and thrill. The violins created a thrilling mood to the audiences in such a way that they become more keen and interested with the upcoming event of the orchestra. The mood creation is done at the moment when the guests are making entry into the venue thus every person was overwhelmed. The arrangement of the violinists and their dressing style in the concert hall also portray bring a thrilling effect to the audience on the seriousness if the concert. Persons get affected by the type of dressing in a musical concert since the dressing dictates the type of concert that will occur. In this concert, the violinists ensure that they set a mood to the audience for them to adapt and understand the occasion is an orchestra and not any other performance (Meghan Stevens 50).
The hall of the concert was big with well-organized and decorated seats for the audience to enhance their comfort during the performance. The concert hall right from the moment that the guests were arriving, the mood set is a celebratory mood graced with happiness from every person in attendance. The organization of the stage and the audience location was designed to enhance a captivating atmosphere for all the people in attendant including the guests. The visitors feel welcomed and comfortable attending the concert by the simple but classic setting of the orchestra.
The lighting of the hall created an imaginative atmosphere to the audience since the lights signified a totally different mood from the one experienced outside the hall. The wind instruments and lighting combined perfectly to create an imaginative yet a mood filled with a lot of emotions relating to the occasion at hand. The stage was equipped with dimmers, controllers, and lighting instruments to create a selective visibility stage in addition to creating focus, mood, and alteration of the perception. As a result, the stage created a perception best known to each audience according to the reactions and emotions that the persons had. The emotions ran high during the performance coupled with cheers and screams in recognition of pure art performance and quality performance in the orchestra.
The costumes used in the music concert were spending and show the culture of the ancient period. According to the costumes used in the concert, a celebratory mood was created and the dances just made the mood more interesting for the audience. The bright colors used by the performers symbolized a happy mood for all the people in the environment. Additionally, the combination between men, women and children showed that the concert was meant to be enjoyed by all members of the family and no restrictions are placed with regards to attendance (Frances Donaldson 12).
The performance was therefore splendid and the entire crowed enjoyed it in the long run. The concert signified a significant step made in classical music as shown through the turning experience and the accelerando. Generally, the concert was a winner as all the people enjoyed and had a memorable experience that they may wish to repeat another year. Despite the success of the concert, some issues were not cared for and they might have caused harm to the audience even through no major damage occurred.
The major failure of the concert was based on the lighting where the concert did not consider that there cases where people might be affected by the lighting system such as epileptic people. The organizers just had to create a notice to warn people on the type of performance and what to be expected so that any individual who is affected by the lighting system will be affected at their own risk. The audience formed an important of the concert since they formed an important part of the concert in mood creation (Frances Donaldson 67).
In the end, the concert went to a climax to ensure that the audience receives the best out of it. The crowd was amazed by the performance and they appreciated through cheers. The experience was exceptional and the combination of emotions, atmosphere changes through the lighting, musical instruments and the a cappella created a perfect mood for a New Year eve for the audience. I found the performance exemplary and since it combined numerous factors to ensure that every person in attendance enjoyed to the latter.
