Psychological disorders manifest themselves in many ways. It follows that physicians must diagnose patients for various conditions by combining several symptoms (The Psychological disorders). The first case, N.K. had anxiety disorder characterized by his sweaty palms, heart flutters, dizziness, nervous symptoms such as clicking of fingers, and having no real friends at school. It follows that information on social behavior and body physiology offered the best clues on the same. Case 2 (B.H) had a dissociative disorder (Dissociative identity disorder). She was experiencing forgetfulness evidenced by getting lost and appearing without physical harm. The employer fired her for absence meaning that she could have forgotten that she had to go to work. Case 3 (J.S) has a personality disorder (Anti-social personality disorder). He shows no signs of depression or anxiety but certainly has problems with socialization. The observations by the interviewer and self-description offered the best clue to the diagnosis. Fourth case (D.G) suffers a mood disorder (major depression) evidenced by continued sadness and listless, guiltiness, and suicidal feelings. Last case (L.T) suffers from Schizophrenia (paranoid schizophrenia) evidenced by a distorted perception that someone wants to make him crazy by depriving him of sleep (Ludwig). From the case, the reasons for seeking treatment, accounts of the interviewer, self-description, medical history, employer, and friends’ accounts were most useful in diagnosis. Miscellaneous information and police reports could also indicate potential disorders and, as a result, offered significant information for the diagnosis.
On the contrary, although age could provide critical information for diagnosis of diseases, it played a minimal role in the cases. Gender and ethnicity also did not help much in the five cases. Besides, the occupation of the people seemed to have no significant influence on the occurrence of the disorders.
