Being an adapt of a theory of the life-long education, I have always looked for new ways of exploration and perfection. I believe, that getting a degree is not an end of education, but merely a beginning, and thus, I have always pushed myself a step farther on my journey of education, having no intention to stop, whatsoever. Now I find myself ready for the next leap, prepared to take my studies further and to commit to becoming a professional.
Although our purpose as human beings is yet to be defined, we all seek to find our place in the world and to find out true calling. People have discovered various ways of doing so, some follow their passion into becoming artists, others feel that they were born to teach and become educators; some believe, we have to explore the worlds, thus, becoming scientists, others turn out to be musicians, the opportunities are endless. And I don’t know what kind of fate has been predetermined for me and what life path has been established, but what I do know is, that I would like to make a contribution to the world, in order to make it a better place for the generations to come. Who knows, maybe a newly discovered Kepler 186f will become our next home planet, and sure enough, human kind will need doctors, among other professionals, in order to get through. No matter how crazy that may sound, but some day it can be our reality. We might inhabit another planet, and even though it might appear similar, it will still have its effect on us; and who if not doctors, together with scientists can make crucial for our survival conclusions and contributions.
Desirable as it sounds, it might not be the case for another hundred years, therefore, there is plenty of time and space to have a contribution on our home planet. People are getting sick everywhere around the globe, and unfortunately, they do not receive proper treatment, due to the lack of medical professionals, alongside with other issues. I am committed to bring a change to that, I am committed to help people in need and to give them the treatment they deserve. Becoming a physical therapist is my way of contributing to the well-being of the human kind, in general, and our nation in particular. First of all, a healthy nation is a great nation. Researches show that countries with a healthy population develop and prosper faster, they are more likely to be economically stable, and as a direct consequence, life expectancy is higher and child mortality is lower. The health care system, being unaffordable for most of the people and being solely dependent on the amount of money you are willing to spend, leaves much to be desired as well.
Be this on Earth or on any other planet we might inhabit, humans are nothing, if not healthy, strong and adaptive. Civilizations cannot soar and prosper without proper care and medical attention. Thus, I consider your graduate program to be a perfect place for me to continue on with my education, on my path to making a world a better place and pushing us closer to a greater and brighter tomorrow.
