My ultimate goal since I started my academic career in biology was to count myself among the foremost professionals in the field; much of that relates closely to receiving as complete an education as possible and taking a challenging, full-time position as a college professor. After having completed two years of MCB combined with a dissertation at XX
University, four years of Biology courses concentration and one year of Chemistry at XX University, there is nothing more exciting than being able to continue pursuing my objectives and utilizing my knowledge to continue my career in MCB and earn my doctorate at XX University. Achieving this goal to the best of my ability would give me the chance to fulfill my potential as a fully-fledged teaching professional in the field of biology.
I have been fascinated by the field of biology for a long time; graduating in 2010 from XX University with a BA in Biological Sciences and Chemistry and with my Master’s in MCB in 2012, I have already set myself down a clear and committed path towards completing my education with a PhD in Biology. Much of what I have learned relates closely to my practical work in both the laboratory and in the field, given my independent study work with molecular biology assays, DNA sequencing and more. I currently have two years of experience as an adjunct professor at XX University to date, so I am extremely familiar with the experiencing of teaching, the infrastructure of the university itself, and the tools required to perform the research and tasks that will benefit many in the field of biological research. The years of work I put into my thesis research to achieve my Master’s has given me important field experience that I can then use to further more fulfilling, professional research and teach to students in my full-time capacity as a college professor. With the help of the PhD program, I can expose myself to even more equipment and tools that are integral to the pursuit of biological research.
On a personal level, I feel that earning my doctorate and taking a teaching position at this university is my first, best destiny. The love and support of my family is highly important to me, and they provide me with mcuh inspiration to keep going and pursue my dreams. Ever since I began this journey, I knew that the work it would take to earn these qualifications would be immense; nonetheless, my family has been by my side through all of it, with their endless patience and emotional support. Their help provides me with an immensely gratifying support system that would allow me to weather the challenges inherent to such a rigorous program.
Between my existing accomplishments, my high ambitions, and the expertise and training I have received to date, I am confident I have what it takes to meet and exceed the expectations and rigors of a PhD program in biology. All of my work in education and biology has led up to this moment, and I would be certain to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn and grow from this doctorate program. It is my concerted belief that, with the help of this PhD program, I would be able to fulfill my potential as a researcher and teacher, and return this investment to my students and XX University as a highly qualified full-time professor.
