In our country, politics has been known to be a game for the rich and cunning. This is because of what happens in the Arena, of which the faint in heart cannot handle. To be specific, public money has been noted to be mishandled and misappropriated. The public ends up being taxed heavily in the name of economic development, but only the few benefit from this programs. With these in mind, there is need for a program to be set up to ensure that public money is well spent in areas that majority of the population will benefit. A good example of such is the public and health sectors. As compared to investing more money in the financing of state cars and retreats to our leader, more money should be invested in the education sector so as to secure the countries future, the education sector.
The education sector is seen to be always short-funded by the government therefore not enough funds are available to ensure that all projects are well handled. The public schools in the country are usually minimally funded by the government. These include; under-equipped libraries, under-equipped laboratories, under-staffing and harsh learning environment. This could be reflected in the performance of public schools in relation to the private schools in terms of academics. Something needs to be done in order to save our public education system, and this need to be financed.
Money in the education sector can be used to make the education system way better. These could be through the financing programs such as availing up to date books to the libraries, offering after school programs and tutoring to the students amongst the many programs that can be offered. These programs will help in the educating of children making them a better part of the society, achieving our economic growth. Children are known to be the future of the country, care and lime-light should be placed on projects that are of beneficial to them. Through education, the country will be in a position to ensure that the country in future will be well catered for.
Education is not only the areas that money should be invested in. As work without play makes Jack a dull boy, community programs should also have an equal share of these monies. This means that invested into the community programs should also be considered. These include tournaments, construction and maintenance of social halls and other events. This will ensure that idle time among the youth will be minimized. This in the end will minimize the social evils such crime, prostitution and use of drugs among the youth.
Reforms in our political systems should be a major priority to ensure public funds are used wisely. This means that politics should not take its toll on the management of funds in the government. The process of resource allocations and use of the funds by the various government entities should be a thing of high priority. This will ensure that the funds are used effectively where they are supposed to be used and not in any ad hoc manner. Education, community programs and community health should be a high priority in the spending of the government’s finances. This will ensure that the key areas in the public sectors are well catered for therefore equal distribution of the social amenities to the public.
