The art of smoking hookah is a part of rich cultural heritage of the Eastern world. Gradually it becomes more and more popular in the West, but there are still a lot of people, who did not have a chance to experience this traditional Eastern ritual. I have always wanted to try smoking hookah, so I came up with the decision to visit hookah lounge shortly. As a person that has never smoked hookah before, I was trying to take the most out of the experience, so I spent a long time choosing the right place to visit. Visiting a hookah lounge is an unusual and relaxing experience that is worth trying if one wants to feel the comforting atmosphere, dive in the chilling music and get to know Eastern culture.
The first thing I enjoyed about the lounge is its convenient location and service. I called to the lounge before the visit to reserve a table, and the stuff appeared really friendly and ready to answer all of my questions. I went to the lounge on the weekend with two of my friends, as I thought that it would benefit the experience not to take a lot of friends. The lounge we chose was a small bar in the city center that is not very popular; therefore, as we entered there were no people and I could concentrate on the relaxation and calm communication with my friends. Therefore, the bar had really good location, as it is in the heart of the city, but preserves the elements of privacy and intimacy. It does not have vivid sign, and the entrance is not seen on the busy street, as it is hidden behind an old building. It is the location that makes the lounge unknown for the general public and it is rarely possible to see a tourist there. The staff is really nice, and the hookah master with the waiters and baristas were all contributing to the authentic experience form the moment we entered the lounge. For those, who have never smoked hookah and hardly imagine how the process looks like, it is a perfect place, as new-comers are always welcomed, and well-advised on the menu items, hookah flavors, and teas. Everyone is ready to explain what interests a client, and give useful hints that concern the very process of smoking.
The interior of the lounge is also very pleasant with stylish furniture and perfect lighting. The lounge is located at the ground floor and consists of four public rooms and two private rooms, one of which I had a chance to experience. However, the public rooms are also really nice, as every table is beautifully separated from the other with the help of translucent slightly embroidered curtains. The room we chose was a little dark one with the white scented smoke smoothly moving in the air. It is absolutely different smoke from the cigarette one; I found it really enjoyable. The furniture in the lounge is simple, but stylish: dark long sofas with patterned cushions and small soft poufs around the small triangular table. The table is made of glass with the leather framing, and seems really stylish and luxurious. The walls are full of abstract pictures that are really compatible with the rest of exterior. Instead of door the room entrances are covered by half transparent curtains. The lighting is subdued and relaxing: the long and not really vivid lamp in the corners of the room were the only sources of light, but general design did not require more; however, in the other rooms, there was bigger choice in terms of light and design, but generally the interior seems to exactly correspond to what I imagined to be a hookah lounge.
The most enjoyable part is definitely the atmosphere and the music that drive a visitor into the feel of absolute relaxation. The calming and exotic music motives that are representing combination of all the treasures world music can offer may seem unusual for the ear, but will lead the visitor into charmingly relaxed mood. As the hookah is shortly ready, the visitor starts smoking, and the room gets filled with the clouds of rich white smoke. The smokes are beautifully flowing in the air, while visitors can keep the conversation going or simply enjoy the combination of the intense atmosphere, chilling music and nice company. Spending a couple of hours in the hookah lounge smoking, drinking tea and talking is a very special experience that is definitely worth trying if you never had a chance to do that before.
Even if a person is not an avid smoker, it would be amusing to experience smoking hookah in the specialized lounge. A traditional hookah smoking is now available for the interested in the absolutely enjoyable setting. The atmosphere in the lounge is unique, as the smoke and relaxing music create a correspondent mood, while successfully selected design, perfect location and excellent service will make the experience especially memorable for the newcomers. However, I think it is not entirely healthy to overuse the hookah, so it is probably better to limit the time to spend there to avoid health issues. Nevertheless, I believe that visiting a hookah bar is a worthy experience to try as it offers a chance to spend a nice relaxing evening in the company of friends and have fun and allows trying something completely out of the ordinary.
