The purpose the following Birkman analysis report is to identify and describe the personalities, social perceptions, occupational interests and preferences of the individual group members. The purpose of this analysis is to improve the function of the group. The Birkman method of individual analysis describes people’s interests, strengths, motivational needs, and stress reactions. This knowledge gives individuals the insights they need to improve their stress reactions and fulfill their motivational needs leading to a healthier and more productive group. Individuals that understand their motivational needs can leverage this understanding to control their stress reactions (Reingold, p. 48). The analysis gives group members the knowledge they need about each other to work together productively. Without the knowledge of their fellow group member’s actual interests, strengths, motivational needs, and stress reactions individuals can only guess when trying to understand their fellow group members. Providing group members with knowledge about the actual personalities of their associates increases the group’s productivity and efficiency. The analysis clearly identifies the group’s strengths and weaknesses which can allow the group to focus their attention on showcasing their strengths in order to overcome their weaknesses. The Birkman analysis provides an in-depth description of the personalities, motivators, and interests of the individual participants giving group members the knowledge they need to work together as a team in order to strive towards their goals (Birkman). The purpose of the following report is to describe the personalities, social perceptions, occupational interests and preferences of the individual group members in order to increase the group’s cohesion and effectiveness.
