Natural gas is a mixture of certain types of gas, which are formed deep in the Earth after the decomposition of organic sedimentary rocks. This is a kind of mineral resources, which is extracted along with oil, or as an independent matter. The gas that is extracted from natural deposits, consists of hydrocarbon and non hydrocarbon components. Natural gas is methane, which includes heavier homologues - ethane, propane, and butane. In some cases, it is possible to find a natural substance that has a pair of pentane and hexane. Hydrocarbons contained in deposits can be formed only in the formation of oil, and the transformation of trace organic compounds. Natural gas also contains an admixture of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, helium, and argon.
The most important deposits of natural gas are Panhandle-Hyuhoton in the US, Slohteren in the Netherlands, Hassi Rmel in Algeria, Kanhan, and Gazley Shatlyk in Central Asia (Natural Gas - Energy Explained, Your Guide To Understanding Energy - Energy Information Administration). Currently, oil and natural gas are extracted on all continents except Antarctica. The first place in the volume of natural gas consumption is for North America, where the United States has been and remain the world's largest consumer of fuel.
If to speak about the process of hydraulic fracturing, gas is extracted from the ground through a network of wells. Because it is under high pressure, the extraction is executed in a fountain way (Extraction Naturalgas.Org). When there is free gas leakage, there is the irrational usage of energy reservoir, and the destruction of the fracture the well. Development of gas deposits lasts for 15-20 years, during which 80-90% of the reserves are exploited. The gas is cleanes from mechanical impurities, water vapor, heavy hydrocarbons, if necessary, cleaned of sulfur compounds.
