Introduction
Ekleta a Swedish health care company founded in the year 1972 by Lars Leksell. Ekleta provides Radiation Therapy, Radiation Surgery, Clinical management, Brain cancer. There are total numbers of 3300 employees working in the organisation. Its headquarters are located at Stockholm and Sweden. The CEO of this company is Niklas Savander. It is one of the biggest health care organisations in Sweden has been delivering a very low quality of performance in the recent years. Improving the quality of service is always a commendable job which Ekleta is performing. Through a report specification it was founded out that the organisation lacks in many areas which are to be necessarily improved. This can be classified in four main and broad categories (Fottler, Ford & Heaton, 2002).
Leadership quality.
Clinical quality.
Safety for the patients.
Incorporated approach to self-management in elongated period conditions.
Problem scenario
Quality of service should be the main approach of every health care organisation. Quality can be said as an idea of approaching a patient for solving their problem in the best possible way. There should be quality indicator in the form of standards in each health care. As the quality indicator has the 5Ds indicator as Death, Disease, Disability, Discomfort and Dissatisfaction. The second main point in improving the quality of services by Ekleta is improving the quality of nurses. Nursing can be said as one of the most defining prospects in maintaining the quality of services (Dyro, 2004). There should be a 24/7 check on each and every patient in Ekleta and the health care should have adequate ambulance service within the hospital for all the time so that in case of emergency services by the health care can be immediately available. Another important approach for maintain quality of services is the skills of communication and counselling. Resources needed for improving the Quality are as follows:
Daily opportunities for orderly suggestion with equals.
Data should be provided precise, absolute, related and regular.
Proper finance for tools, training and information.
Strategic implementation
The next most important point required for maintaining quality performance in a health care organisation is a proper leadership. And Ekleta is facing a leadership problem as the governing bodies do not work together for which the organisational goal is not met and the company faces problems of unsatisfied client. So to maintain a proper quality health care the governing body and the senior managers should work together as a team. As in case of health care the governing body has the rights to choose the main executive officers, so it is the duty of the governing body to choose the right deserving officers (Pradhan, 2014). The leader should also have a check on the department where diagnosis is done. Because there were reports that persons without a license were also performing the task which is considered as illegal in the eyes of law. The leader duty is also to check the independent practioners because there patients uses most of the resources of the health care and it can hamper the organisation from achieving its goals of providing high quality of services and safe care of the patients. The leader should maintain quality of care, monetary sustainability, quality service and principled behaviour to achieve its goals.
Strategy objectives
If a quality in service is to be maintained by Ekleta the main objective that the organization has to perform is the safety for patients. It is a solid definition but the practice is quite incomplete in Ekleta because it is not maintained in a proper way. So the following practices to be performed are Suitable use of antibiotic for patients with surgical issues, proper doctors should be allocated for the patients, a continuous and regular check should be given to each and every patients, trained and experienced nurses should taken up, doctors should behave ethically with the patients and have a relationship of understanding with patients, medicines should be checked for their expiry dates before being given to patients (Stahl, 2004). There should be many patient safety practices like simulators, bar coding, squad supply management. Patient’s safety tools should be brought up because this helps to prevent incidents and decrease the amount of risk and errors. The most commonly used patient safety tools are to be implemented are Check lists, the control of falls, infections and ulcers.
Identification of appropriate stakeholders
The process of involving stakeholders is an important phenomenon in the growth of a health care and to produce quality services (Ritchie, 2002). So the stakeholders should be categorised as follows:
Those participating in program operation- partners, financial agencies, alliance members, management.
Those occupied in the program- Patients and customers, encouragement group, selected officials and society member.
Other members participating in program-private organization, local government etc.
Conclusion
The above mentioned factors like quality service, clinical service, and patient safety are very important issues for a health care to run in a proper way. If there is a good leader can perform all this activity and can keep a check on the proper maintenance of Ekleta, good results can be achieved. And client will also be satisfied and the health care organization will not fall into any kind of problem like clinical, operational and financial.
