Human development refers to the changes that occur during human growth. These changes are more complex than just the multiplication of human cells. It is important to have knowledge on human development in order to ensure that it is fully attained. Since this form of development begins in the prenatal stage, it is very crucial that, during that stage, the zygote is in a good state of health. Psychology provides sufficient information on the effects of the environment in which a child develops and how it could affect his or her development. This essay will provide a perspective on human development from as early as the prenatal stage to the point of aging. It will provide insight on what this development is and expound why it is important to ensure that development occurs fully.
Human development is firstly a lifelong matter that involves prenatal, postnatal development, adolescence and the process of aging. During the old age, such changes as menopause and the inability to reproduce in men may take place. Other than these sexual aspects, such abilities as vision are also affected by age. The age of a person determines how well their sensations and perceptions are. At a young age, children may develop permanence which means that they do not consider the existence of something if they cannot see that object. At an older age, it is the ability to produce a stable interpretation concerning items that occur. Development is, therefore, a concern for everyone in the society and at all stages of life. Changes in our bodies always come with different emotions like fear or shame. It is, therefore, important to create awareness in the society on how to handle matters of development in order to stay in the best health possible.
Development engages, brain development, sexuality and cognitive abilities. For prenatal development, these changes are rapid after the eighth week. It is important for pregnant women to avoid alcohol or smoking and maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to aid full development in children. Drinking and smoking during pregnancy could lead to intellectual disorders. Cognitive ability is the most easily developed ability during childhood, and it portrays unique activity. The parent ought to involve the child in more than just what he or she sees in order to aid his or her imagination in the future. Other important aspects of development are concepts such as attachment. These determine the social ability of a child in the future as an adult. It is necessary to mold attachments by allowing the child to interact with other children and make his or her own friends. This will also aid his or her ability to trust people and choose who not to trust.
It would be correct to say that is important to form a strong development foundation at a young stage in order to ensure very sharp abilities in a person throughout his life. While parents take care of their children before and after birth, they ought to provide the best parenting in terms of working with these children to enable them trust their abilities. Good parenting involves supporting the child fully in order to ensure that he or she is very confident and safe from hazards that could jeopardize the development. This way, it would be easy also during adolescence and for the person himself or herself to watch their development in future
