Advantages of 4G network:
a. Higher speed: 4G LTE offers a faster connection to the Internet; it is ten times faster than the previous 3G, according to speed tests. The same applies to the speed of loading and unloading of data that can be between 50 and 60 Mbps (the rise) and 150 Mbps per second (the descent).
b. The above are estimates that, in theory, should be met but it depends on each operator, the contracted plan, and even geographic location .
c. Downloading applications and complex computer software are also agiler, exceeding 40 megabytes per second, depending on the location. Also, downloading movies and videos are faster and have no connection interruptions.
Disadvantages of 4G network:
a. It is a recent technology that is present in the large cities of a few countries North America, Europe, and South America.
b. For now, geographically limited service is provided outside the user covered areas left without 4G service.
c. The 4G network is compatible only with certain models of tablets and cell phones that integrate an LTE antenna and a chip compatible with it .
d. Battery Consumption: 4G LTE network consumes more battery power, but this is offset by the fact that the download speed is faster, spend less energy on other device resources, such as processor and display.
Advantages of 3G network:
The first advantage of 3G is that it allows us to connect to the global digital network at any time and in any place. Unlike hiring a wireless ADSL package for a fixed network, it is normal that using 3G for internet access only paid for downloading data made, and not a flat fee. Voice transmission via a smartphone with 3G is very sharp and efficient, comparable to that of a fixed telephone network, without the connection to the network is faster than, for example, by connecting a standard fixed router, done that it allows us to restore quickly dropped connections or interrupted .
Disadvantages of 3G network:
The Internet connection speed is lower than wireless technology Wi-Fi of ASDL or optical fiber, which are much faster in downloading and data upload.
Differences between the two technologies 3G and 4G:
Wireless Application Protocol:
The WAP was launched in 1999 by Nokia, Motorola, Ericsson and Unwired Planet with the objective to bring the internet experience to the cell phones, at that moment, the smartphone was not available commercially. The WAP technology attended a demand of the wireless communication organizations and their users to bring a technological solution of navigation to mobile devices which had a download and upload speed lower than fixed internet. With the improvement of the download and upload speeds with the 3G and 4G technologies, the speed improved to similar values of fixed internet, there is no need to use the WAP protocol because the new mobile devices, smartphones have enough capacity of processing, storage, and speed. Today the WAP is not a requirement for devices that are connected to 3G and 4G networks.
