The author provided a lot of persuasive arguments which validated the main point that technology has affected the automotive industry through different types of cars that are being manufactured. Likewise, the author noted technology as instrumental in designing advanced features, incorporating innovative materials, and applying efficient methods in the process.
2. To what extent am I convinced by the writer's reason and evidence? Why? Through the varied supporting arguments and evidences that were presented, I am convinced that technology has affected the automotive industry. One has observed through time that vehicles have been manufactured using new materials and processes which made the assembly process evolve from manual to automated. Likewise, through reading articles on the subject matter, one has confirmed that the arguments presented were valid and credible.
3. What parts of the selection could be improved? in what ways? The parts of the selection that could be improved are those that made assertions which require citations. For instance, in asserting that: ‘Technology has helped build cars with auto-start engines to the latest high-tech devices, safety devices, sensors and cameras that allows car to think and help the driver manage the car in a better way’ the author should have cited sources where this statement was premised. There were a lot of references found in the annotated bibliography which could have been duly cited as support.
4. How can I use the techniques of persuasive writing exemplified here in my writing? The techniques of persuasive writing could be used through observing that arguments should be supported with previously validated research works or studies on the subject matter. As such, these supporting arguments must be duly cited and referenced. Therefore, although most of the arguments that were presented in the essay appear to be valid, there is still a need to support these from secondary sources of authoritative research to confirm that these statements are true.
