Project’s Background and the Project
Wireless technologies have been changing rapidly for past decade, resulting in increased coverage and data performance in each technology. These technologies are categorized in terms of their generations. The fourth generation or 4G networks are the latest wireless technology that is commercially available. Sprint is a company that offers its 4G network throughout the United States while claiming to be covering most of the regions while providing high data performance.
The project chosen in this study includes studying Sprint 4G coverage and data performance. Following are the hypotheses that will be tested in this project: -
- All 4G networks are better than all 3G networks
- Sprint 4G networks are better/at least equivalent but not worse than 4G networks offered by other companies
The comparison will be mainly based on the coverage of each network and its data performance experienced by its users.
Methodology, Analysis and Conclusion
The methodology to find out coverage and data performance of Sprint 4G includes surveying people in various regions of United States who use this network and conducting literature review including the official website of Sprint. Surveying may not be possible through face to face contact with participants from around the US hence online surveying would be carried out. The project includes analyzing the results obtained from the surveys in order to establish the scope of coverage and data performance of Sprint 4G networks. The analysis part is the critical part in which the established hypothesis will be tested followed by concluding results. The last part of the project will include presenting conclusion on the coverage and data performance of the Sprint 4G networks.
