Sufficient sleep is a key component to physical fitness
Sleeping is a doing word that is used to explain a situation where a human being or living creature is in a state where the activities of the body are in a rest, so that one is left dormant i.e., unable to think and act. A good sleep is therefore a key towards a healthy life. Take a look at day to day activities that are aimed at achieving some set of objectives; one has to do multiple activities at a go. The same activities are not considerate on the human body parts that contribute to coordination of the mind in order to undertake these activities. The daily routines therefore subjects one to exhaustion which requires rest, and in this case the best form to rest our body organs is by having sufficient sleep.
Everyone has their own sleep style which is much dependant on physiological and the genetic factors of a person. Sleep also depends on the person’s sex, age and the time spent in sleeping previously. In other words; for one to be considered to have had sufficient sleep, that person should have had enough time during sleep such that one is left with a feeling of being refreshed and active for the next event of activities. Therefore an adult needs a sleep that will allow them to wake up with good mood, and efficient alertness which will result to good performance in the long-run.
The average sleep that I get at night is approximately of about eight hours and it is the appropriate time recommended since I wake up refreshed with a relaxed feeling. The factors that contribute to my ability to have sufficient sleep is the completion of my daily routines at the right time. I make sure that I am done with assignments at the right time so as to enable me to get enough sleep. Planning my work and effective time management allows me to complete my routines in time.
Getting enough sleep is vital to academic success because when one feels relaxed and alert after sleeping, one is able to concentrate in their academics and this will facilitate academic success. However, most students are known to have insufficient sleep and this is due to the pressure influence; exams being the most influential aspect that undermines students of their sleep. A research shows that more students do not get enough sleep during exam time because they are under pressure of revising and others Trans night in order to have more time to revise or even cram for the exams. This will tend to lower the grades of such students because at the time they are sitting for the exams, their mind are already exhausted and therefore cannot function normally.
Sufficient sleep is good for the mind alertness and thus maintaining good health resulting to high performance. Students who sleep for less than six hours in more than a week have been proven to perform very poorly. On the other hand, students who get sufficient sleep perform better in terms of memory and therefore practical tasks. This is evident that lack of sleep could lead to impairment in the memory of the student and therefore subjecting the student towards inability to learn. I have ever been under exam pressure in school and I deprived myself some sleep, I ended up performing poorly. When I don’t get enough sleep, I feel tired, in active and feel sleepy with persistent headache.
Planning on daily activities and efficient time management are the techniques I use in order to get enough time to sleep. I always ensure that I perform my routines according to the plan and also at the event of performing those duties I make sure I utilize the allocated time efficiently. This has enabled me to complete my routine duties in time and therefore allowing me to have sufficient time to sleep.
