Question 1
I also do not believe that the economic growth is sustainable, which is because of the fact that in order to make their survival possible, humans focus on extracting water, crops, and several minerals from the Earth. Humans then process the extracted material, and afterwards consume them. Furthermore, the food demand is increasing with the passage of time, and in order to fulfill the need, humans are getting useful minerals from the earth, which is making economic growth an unsuitable process. Sustainable economic growth is when there is no economic problem, particularly for future generations. Periods of economic growth are, however, usually stimulated by increase in the aggregate demand like increase in spending of consumers, but as a matter of fact sustained economic growth needs increase in the output. Additionally, if the output does not increase then increase in the demand or additional demand paves the way to increase in the price level. Furthermore, economic growth is unsustainable because of the fact that we are still fighting for achieving equality in the economy. There is a need that equality should be ensured among men and women so that women can also be involved in the decision making process. There is a need of world where voices of females are heard, and their opinion is considered (Turner and Hill).
Question 2
It is very right that healthy ecosystem is essential and helpful in fulfilling fundamental needs of humans. I also agree that healthy ecosystem paves the way to healthy community. A healthy ecosystem, however, supports sustainability of livelihood, ensures food security, and also helps in maintaining dietary health. Loss of healthy ecosystem threatens health, and also poses threat to future security of nutrition as well as food. Furthermore, healthy ecosystem also play an important role in promoting further studies as it provides several essential resources that are required for medical and other research. Healthy ecosystem helps in ensuring health, which is considered as an important element for ensuring sustainable development. Healthy ecosystem is regarded as basis for health of humans. By securing good and services that are life-sustaining and that are provided by healthy ecosystem, the sustainable utilization of biodiversity and conservation can provide significant benefits to health of humans.
Question 3
I also agree that social equity is not attainable because it is not possible to provide just and fair treatment to all. In order to ensure equity at social level it is necessary to ensure equal distribution of income, but equal distribution of income seems to be difficult in present day scenario where the rich are becoming richer, and the poor are becoming poorer. Equity is to ensure fairness, and it is difficult to make fairness certain at social level because of unequal distribution of resources.

1. I agree with you that economic growth is unsustainable, which is because economic growth is directly associated with ecosystem and natural resources, and they are used by humans in an unregulated and unsustainable manner. As a matter of fact, humans have created a dysfunctional economic system, which is working in accordance with the self-imposed principles are mandate of increasing consumption and production pace, and destroying ecological system on which earth is depending. Human activities are not within the ecological limits, as a result of which human welfare at social level is not promoted. These activities should be within the ecological limits in order to ensure sustainability. Further, I would like to add that Economic growth is unsustainable because of decline in environment as oceans are becoming acidic and carbon dioxide is posing a threat to marine life, and melting glaciers, as a result of which natural resources are being depleted.
2. It is every right that healthy ecosystem is essential for meeting essential needs of humans. I agree that the infrastructure that is required for ensuring sustainability of the community is resource oriented. Healthy ecosystem is essential for ensuring adaptation to climate change. Maintenance of healthy ecosystem helps in reduction of risk of disasters.
3. I agree that social equity demands equal treatment and fairness with all. But, as a matter of fact ensuring equal treatment is not possible, which is indicative of the fact that it is not possible to achieve social equity. Inequality in the society is increasing day by day as a result of which it is becoming difficult to achieve social equity.
