Good Example Of Thunderstorm Essay

While driving through a thunderstorm, a person will experience many different senses pertaining to sight, touch, smell, sound and taste. In terms of sight, a person would be able to see frequent bursts of bright light caused by the bolts of lightning striking down from the clouds. One would also see dark clouds in which rain and sometimes even pieces of hail that can fall heavily on them. One would also see large puddles forming in the road from the down pouring of the rain. Another sight might also be leaves or other debris blowing around in the wind.
In terms of touch, a person would surely be able to feel a few things. They would be able to feel the pelting of the falling wet raindrops from the thunderstorm. One might possibly even be able to feel the pelting of small pieces of hail falling from the sky as well. If the wind is blowing during the thunderstorm, one would also be able to feel the gusts of wind blowing by against their skin. A person might also feel leaves or other debris blow up against them from the blowing wind as well.
Regarding smell, one might be able to smell the distinct smell of rain in the air. Many people are able to describe this smell as being the smell of humidity within the air around them, and can sense a rainstorm as it is rolling in. One might also be able to smell a burning scent if a local tree or home might have been struck by lightning and even potentially may have caught fire. If it is a rather hot day, a person might also be able to smell the warm steam coming off of the roadway from the falling raindrops. One might also smell the scent of flowers in the air from the wind blowing a flower’s fragrance through the air.
The sense of sound would allow a person to hear the heavy and loud rumbles and booms of thunder. These tremendous booms are actually caused by the action of lightning striking either the ground or an object. A person would also likely be able to hear the rain pelting down onto the roof, as well as the sound of the car tires splashing through puddles as it drives along. If there is hail, the person would also hear the pellets of ice tapping on the roof and hood of the car. One might also be able to hear the howling of the wind as well.
In terms of taste, a person might be able to taste the raindrops that are falling from the sky if they were outside of the car during a thunderstorm. If a person wanted to taste any pieces of hail that have fallen from the sky, they would be able to taste a small, cold piece of ice. If the wind was especially strong, some leaves or debris might blow into the car and inadvertently get into a person’s mouth. The air surrounding the person might taste especially saturated due to the excessive humidity within the atmosphere.
